Lara B. swims to synchronised success at Swim England's national competiton
Senior School student, Lara B. joined a team of 31 swimmers, selected to represent their local club Aqualina at Swim England's national Combo Cup for synchronised swimming on 6 July 2019.
Competing against over 1000 swimmers, from over 40 different clubs from around the UK, Lara celebrated great success, winning Bronze as part of the Cavalry Team, competing in the elite 13-18 year old group.
Lara's team performed a complex routine, choreographed by Aqualina coach Kerri - achieving an amazing score of 60.10, to secure Bronze medal position. Her achievement is particularly noteworthy as she only joined Aqualina Club a year ago and she worked very hard to qualify to compete with the team.
The overall Combo Cup is won by the club scoring the highest points, and Lara's Aqualina Club came 5th overall - an achievement to be proud of!
Chairman of Aqualina, Thomas Brennan commented: "To say I'm immensley proud would be an understatement. With just three hours of pool time and one hour of land training a week, we certainly hold our own. We were up against clubs with GB talent squad swimmers, that train some 16 hours per week."
