Ladies Who Lunch
Friday 25 November saw another successful Ladies Who Lunch session for our Sixth Form students. Libby Ahluwalia came in to school to meet with nine of our Lower Sixth students and to discuss her career in publishing Religious Studies (RS) text books (one 15 years ago and one this year) and how she initially started writing. She spoke passionately about her choice to read RS at the University of Cambridge, about her time studying there, and about her career as an RS teacher.
Libby also writes obituaries for graduates from King’s College, Cambridge, and she explained how she goes about doing this, by collecting information and choosing what to write and how to portray someone. She shared her interests in English Literature and photography with the girls, telling them about how she has effectively fitted these hobbies into her busy life. She was an inspiring guest and all the girls found they learnt something useful from her. We are now looking forward to our next two Ladies Who Lunch sessions next half term.
