Igniting career confidence in Lower Sixth students
The school is part of the IGNITE pilot programme which is currently under development by the University of Oxford's Careers Service and the University of Cambridge's Newnham College.
On Monday 28 September it was the turn of our Lower Sixth students to experience the IGNITE career confidence session, which our Upper Sixth students experienced the previous week. Students participated in four sessions during the workshop: one on networking and connecting with others; the second on assertiveness; then a session on writing CVs; and the final session discussed how to write cover letters that stand out. One of the liveliest parts of the workshop involved the students searching for information on themselves online, to check how professional they appear.
