Head of PE and golf enthusiast competes for place in national finals
In June our Head of PE, and golf enthusiast, Mrs Jackie Ewing, took part in the East Region County Match Week, where six counties compete for a place in the national finals. Although the team results were not as sunny as Mrs Ewing might have liked, she managed to win both her singles matches against strong opposition. Having spent many a summer on the golf course as a child herself, Mrs Ewing was pleased to see an enthusiasm for golf amongst young people, with some players being in their early teens. Players in the Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire team included a number of Pastonians, and as Mrs Ewing herself remarked: “This just goes to show how golf is a fantastic cross-generational sport. There is definitely room for up and coming talent on the team. So, with a summer ahead that promises to be sunny, why not pick up a golf club and become part of the next generation of Pastonian golfers?”
