Gymnastic display is a dynamic and explosive mix of agility and endurance
This term's Senior School gymnastic display was enough to put a spring in anyone's step, with 70 girls from both the Junior and Senior School performing well-honed routines in front of an appreciative audience of parents, staff and fellow students.
The Junior School launched the evening event with a display from their largest squad ever - 33 gymnasts from years 5 and 6, who have practised hard on their routines for the last six weeks at afterschool gymnastics club.
Their dynamic and explosive routine of individual, pair, trio and group elements, was performed to "Cross the Line" from the hit musical "Bring It On".
For some, it was the first time in front of a large audience, which was understandably nerve-wracking, but as the Sports Department said:
"They rose to the occasion, performed brilliantly, and we couldn't be more proud of them."
In long-running tradition, the Frances Hawken Gymnastics Salver was awarded to a Year 11 student who shows a high level of commitment and ability. Libby H was the proud recipient, having excelled and shown great determination.
