German Exchange: part 2
Last month the school welcomed students from Germany as part of our exchange programme. During the Easter break six students from Year 8 to Year 10 spent a week at BMV, our partner school in Essen. For some of the girls this was their first trip away from home without their parents and for others it was their first visit to Germany but, having already met their German partners, the girls were all eager to be reunited and enjoy their time in Germany.
The students spent the week visiting places of historical and cultural interest with the main highlight being a trip to the WDR studio (the Studio for Electronic Music of the West German Radio) in Cologne, where the girls made their own radio show in German and English. The girls also attended lessons at BMV and were interested to see how different school is in Germany compared with England. They all agreed that German schools are very good but concluded that starting at 7.30am is far too early!
Everyone had a very pleasant and enriching trip and we would like to thank our German hosts for being so friendly and welcoming.
