Festive, eco-friendly and charitable decorations
Our boarders chose some years ago to start donating unwanted clothes to the Cancer Research UK charity shop on Regent Street and it has become a tradition for the younger boarders to carry the donations to the shop at the end of each term. This long-standing relationship between the students and the staff at the shop has resulted in our boarders getting to know the manager, Mr Michael Baim, who suggested that the girls might decorate the shop for the Christmas season.
To avoid creating any waste, Mr Baim requested that the decorations be handmade from recycled material as far as possible. The girls collected plastic bottles and old wrapping paper and devoted an afternoon to transforming the bottles into festive characters, including Father Christmas, and Olaf, the snowman from Frozen. Pictured you can see these decorations proudly on display in the shop window.
