Dynamic duologues
On Wednesday 3 February 30 students, from Years 8, 9 and 10, took their LAMDA Acting Duologue examinations in Grades 3, 4 and 5. The girls had to prepare, rehearse and perform two contrasting acting scenes, which included: The Glass Slipper, a comedic scene about Cinderella's ugly step-sisters; Below Stairs, a scene that inspired the girls as it was set in the servants’ quarters in a grand house similar to Downton Abbey; Northanger Abbey, an amusing scene based on Jane Austen's famous novel; and Tulip Touch, about a troubled teen struggling to cope with her dysfunctional family.
The girls were happy with their performances, enjoying the positive experience and the examiner, Mr Michael Stone, commented on the girls’ enthusiasm and energy. Mr Stone was also impressed with how well prepared the group was, as the girls had worked exceptionally hard to create such dynamic and diverse characters. The girls should all be very proud of themselves.
