Delicious lockdown flavours
We can't wait for everyone to return to school, but one lockdown trend appears to be the extra time students are finding to get creative in the kitchen.
As our rapidly expanding gallery 'Food Glorious Food' shows the bakes, makes and treats are multiplying by the day! From gingerbread and chocolate cake to samosas, salads and shepherd's pie - the variety is impressive and the results certainly look mouth-watering.
This week, Year 7 girls joined our Head of Technology, Mrs Landshoff for our first Cookery Club via Teams, part of our ongoing remote enrichment provision. Held during the lunchtime break, this extra-curricular club is an opportunity to try out new techniques and recipes. The first Club challenge was making Tuna Mayo Melts or a vegetarian alternative. Girls really enjoyed sharing (and sampling!) their results and discussing the experience together.
Mrs Lanshoff comments: "For me, a real silver lining to lockdown has been the way in which girls have enjoyed having a little more time at home to develop their culinary skills. I can't wait until we are all back in the classroom together, as I think we have a lot to learn from everyone's lockdown successes in the kitchen."
If you have a lockdown kitchen success to share, please send your photos to marketing@stmaryscambridge.co.uk.
