County Cross Country Championships 2016

The County Cross Country Championship was held on Saturday 16 January, with seven St Mary’s School, Cambridge students competing. The competition was held at King’s School, Ely and each of the girls ran exceptionally well in spite of the cold and muddy conditions. In the minor race Lily U. represented the school well to finish in 20th position. The girls who ran in the junior race did an excellent job, achieving the following positions: Beth W., fifth; Matilda T., eighth; Arabella H., ninth; and Lucy C., 18th. In the intermediate race Jessica O. gave a strong performance to finish in 19th place, whilst Julia P. was the star of the day, running a great race to come in first place – making her this year’s County Champion. Well done Julia!

Special congratulations go to Beth W., Matilda T., Arabella H. and Julia P., who have all qualified to represent Cambridgeshire in the Anglian Cross Country Championships in February. We would like to wish all them all the very best of luck and look forward to hearing how they got on.
