Classical Junior Reading Competition
On Wednesday 16 March our school hosted the annual Cambridge Classical Association Junior Reading Competition. This is an opportunity for students in their first two years of studying an ancient language to perform a passage dramatically. There are two categories for individuals – Classical Greek prose and Latin prose – and a group category where students perform a Latin play.
We were delighted with the number of entries in each category and the high standards of all the students. Our girls worked very hard to prepare their pieces and, although they didn’t win, they should be extremely proud of their efforts and talent, and we hope they enjoyed the experience of reading emotively and accurately in ancient languages.
