Champion netball performance!
On Thursday 22 October a mixed Year 8 and Year 9 (U14) team competed in, and won, the preliminary round of the Cambridgeshire Independent Schools’ Competition. The girls played extremely well and won all matches with convincing victories against teams from The Perse, Kings Ely and The Stephen Perse Foundation. A fine accolade in its own right, the competition also qualified the team for the Cambridgeshire County School Netball Finals. Both U14 and U16 teams will compete in the finals, which take place on Saturday – good luck girls!
This week marked the first time we have put forward an U19 netball team for the County Netball Finals. Our U19 team placed sixth overall; the girls played extremely well and only lost their final game by one goal, against Kings Peterborough.
Netball at our school continues to go from strength to strength, and our PE teachers confidently profess that we boast the best netball players in the region. Four girls in Year 8 (Amelie D., Francesca K., Grace K. and Cristina H.P.) and one Year 9 student (Nicole T.) have made it through to the satellite netball system, which is the furthest girls of this age can progress personally in the region. Well done to each of these girls!
