Carol Services at OLEM Church
On Friday 9 December the whole Junior School made its way over to OLEM Church for its annual Carol Service. Our fantastic Junior School Music teacher, Miss Elise Hickey, did an excellent job of preparing the girls, co-ordinating the concert, and conducting many of the pieces that were performed. Highlights included the Reception choir’s rendition of The Rocking Carol, which, although quiet, was really lovely; and both Chamber Choirs’ performances. Thank you to the girls for such enthusiastic singing, playing of instruments, and readings of the Christmas story. View photos from the service here.
The climax of the Autumn Term is the Senior School Carol Service, at OLEM Church, which took place today. Featuring carols sung by girls of all ages as well as by our Allegro and Cantore choirs, and readings telling the Christmas story, there are many St Mary’s girls, past and present, for whom the service is a highlight of their time at our school. I thank our RE and Music departments for their efforts to orchestrate such a moving event with which to close the term. View photos from the service here.
