Brand new drama studio enhances potential for our arts students
Students have returned to school after the summer break to see room 21 transformed into a brand new Drama studio. The new midnight blue and silver studio (colours suggested by our Sixth Form Drama students) should certainly get the girls’ creative juices flowing in the coming months. Mr Joe Nicholson, our brilliant theatre technician, was project manager and worked incredibly hard to ensure the space was ready on time for the start of term. With a new touch screen lighting desk that will allow the girls to create colour palettes and lighting designs easily, and with a fully equipped stage space with walk around, wings and two sets of curtains, the space is perfect for smaller performance work at both GCSE and A Level.
Ms Esther Roberts, Head of Drama, is delighted to have the additional teaching space as it will really transform the girls’ experience in Drama, and with growing numbers over the last five years it is fantastic to see the department develop to accommodate demand. A special thank you should go to the team for carrying off this excellent development. We can’t wait to see what the girls in upcoming performances throughout the year.
