Bedford athletics meet

On Thursday 9 June seven Year 6 girls and one Year 5 girl competed in the IAPS East Region Athletics Competition at the International Athletic Stadium in Bedford. St Mary's Junior School, Cambridge was among the 50 preparatory schools at the competition. All of the girls achieved personal bests in each of their events, which is an incredible accomplishment. Lucia C. ended the day in spectacular fashion; she won the U12 800m race (running with girls in the year above), which has qualified her to run in the National IAPS Competition – to be held at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham on Monday 4 July. The girls were a credit to St Mary’s Junior School, Cambridge. They had a great experience and they should be very proud of themselves.
