Art History Club launches Inclusive Icons exhibition
As a special project to celebrate LGBT+ History month, students from Year 9 and 10 worked with Ms Robley in Art History Club during Friday lunchtimes to learn about LGBT+ artistic icons such as Andy Warhol, Zanele Muholi, Frida Kahlo and Tove Jansson, amongst others. The students discussed the impact of their work on society and the LGBTQ+ community, before creating their own artwork.
Students chose an LGBTQ+ artist to base a screenprint on, creating a stencil using Photoshop and then printing their portrait in colours of the Pride flag to go on display in frames along the Elms corridor, as a special exhibition celebrating inclusion and diversity in the Arts and our school community.
Well done to all the students on their striking and informative exhibition, which can be seen in the Elms corridor.
