Apple Day at St Mary's is super 'appeeling'

Juiced, peeled, celebrated in ornamental form, or just plain eaten, apples were the star of lunchtime today at St Mary's.

In the glorous October sunshine, under dappled shadows cast apon the Chapel lawn, our students gathered to celebrate Apple Day - one of the UK's favourite fruits.

From hand turned juicers squeezing crisp tart apples into liquid autumn, to making bracelets from the cutest apple-shaped beads, apples were everywhere by the bushel.

The competition for the longest apple peel was tense, with the curling swathes snapping and dropping fast. The ultimate winner (we think) was from Paston House, with a peel longer (taller) than some of the Year 7s!
