Alumna inspired to act
Alumna Hannah P., joined St Mary's Junior School in in 2006 as a Year 5 pupil and left us in 2015 after finishing her A Levels. Since leaving school Hannah went on to study BSc Midwifery at the University of East Anglia, Norwich, and is now enjoying her final year.
Despite a dislike for running, Hannah always participated in our annual Fun Run at school and was actively involved with a variety of charitable pursuits during her nine years with us. We are proud to hear that the years of charity pursuits at school have inspired her enough to now consider running for charity.
Hannah has decided to take on the challenge to run over 26 miles and will be participating in the Brighton Marathon in April alongside some of her friends. The group will be raising funds for a fantastically worthwhile cause, Leeway Domestic Violence and Abuse Services, an independent charity providing support to adults, young people and children who are experiencing domestic abuse in Norfolk and Waveney. The charity is the founding member of WAFE (Women’s Aid Federation England) and every year provides specialist support to over 8,000 adults, young people and children.
Hannah aims to raise £300 for the charity, and donations can be made via her JustGiving page here. We would like to wish Hannah and her friends the best of luck in their training and all the best for the big day in April!
