A 60 year challenge
On Friday 6 May HRH the Earl of Wessex attended an event at Bottisham Village College to celebrate 60 years of the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Cambridgeshire students from various schools took part in a ‘Diamond Challenge’, which was enthusiastically watched by HRH the Earl of Wessex as well as Phillip Schofield, with accompanying television crew. Mrs Susan Brown, Miss Fleur Spore and Mr Richard Atkinson were delighted to attend this celebration of the scheme, at which Miss Spore and Mr Atkinson received their Duke of Edinburgh long service awards, presented by the Earl of Wessex – Miss Spore for 29 years and Mr Atkinson for 14 years. Mrs Brown had previously received her award for 30 years’ service at St James’ Palace.
Congratulations to each of our members of staff, on being recognised for the fantastic work you do in encouraging, supporting and accompanying our girls in their pursuit of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
