Year 13 celebrates a year of achievements with Prize-giving
After a pause on live events during the pandemic, we were delighted to join together once again for our Year 13 Prize-giving, rounding off their time at St Mary’s on a high note. We celebrated students’ learning behaviours, attitudes and values with speeches and prizes, before a wonderful musical performance by Music Scholar Ava L.
Every student awarded a prize displayed either the learning behaviours which will help them to progress now and in later life, or the values and attitudes which equip them with the wider skills to be an outstanding learner and citizen. We place an emphasis on skill or attitude, and not simply outcome, as we understand that it is skills, values and attitudes that lay the building blocks for future success, and that all of us can improve with the right mindset.
While our awards celebrate these values, we would like to offer all our students this our sincere congratulations. They experienced a hugely challenging set of circumstances, including a second lockdown in the Spring Term of Y12, and ongoing uncertainty surrounding exams. We are so proud of their determination and resilience.
