Alumna returns to share her research on climate change at 'Learning Lunch'
Alumna Habiba Daggash came back to St Mary's recently to talk to the Sixth Form at a ‘Learning Lunch’ about her research on climate change. Her interest in energy began during her Extended Project in the Sixth Form at St Mary’s, in which she explored the possibility of a world solely dependent on renewable energy. Having completed a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Engineering at the University of Oxford, Habiba is now in the third year of her PhD at Imperial College London; she is researching the implications of climate change mitigation objectives on energy system transitions, within the context of geopolitical and bio-geophysical constraints. She is also the current Chair of IChemE Energy Centre's Future Leaders Group. The girls were galvanised by her exciting career path and inspiring work.
