Year 7 take a day to reflect

Year 7 take a day to reflect

This week Year 7 have spent their time getting to know and connecting with their year group through a variety of different activities. The transition from Junior School to Senior school is one which can pose challenges, but days like this help our students to make friendships with each other through shared experiences.

Interspersed with games and discussion Year 7 have reflected on the qualities of friendship, explored valuable memories and aspects of what makes them who they are and written a letter to their future self which they will receive at their Leavers Mass at the end of the Upper Sixth - their last day in the Sixth Form at St Mary's. Past students who receive their letters from Mr Bennett who is the 'keeper of the letters' over their years of development at school often take the time to comment on how far they have come since this day in Year 7 and what a life changing experience their school days have been.

We all wish our new Year 7's a wonderful seven years of fun, excitement and growing friendships as they move through their new school.
