Students enjoy choral workshop with APOLLO5
Nineteen of our talented young singers in Years 7 and 8 took part in a Choral Day with professional vocal group APOLLO5 on Monday 7 October. They worked with students from other schools (St John’s, Heritage and The Leys) to produce a stunning array of songs from traditional African to contemporary which were woven into a tapestry of music enhanced by electric viola and video. Paul Smith, composer and animateur with VOCES8, was an inspirational vocal leader and the choir had great fun exploring their voices while working hard to prepare for the public performance in the evening. Many thanks to APOLLO5 for their beautiful ‘A Capella’ renditions of a huge range of songs from renaissance polyphony to popular classics and for their inspiring work with our young singers.
