St Mary's mathematicians score highly in the UK Mathematics Trust Challenge

The results are in for this year's Intermediate Mathematical Challenge which was held by the UK Maths Trust in January. In the form of an hour-long multiple-choice test, St Mary's students in years 9 and 10 took part to challenge their mathematical reasoning and precision of thought.

We are delighted for the 25 girls who will be receiving Bronze certificates; eight of them are from Year 9, including Amy H. who achieved the best score in her year.

A further 10, all from Year 10, have secured Silver certificates. Congratulations to Hettie C., Sunny C., Fatima F., Jessica J., Maya J., Jiwon K., Mia L., Lisa N., Charlotte N. and Cindy Y. for outstanding performances.

All four students in receipt of Gold certificates have been invited by the UK Maths Trust to participate in the next level of the maths challenge - the Pink Kangaroo stage! Congratulations to Anson C., Hannah F., Dora Z. and Diya S., who was the highest scorer in the school.

Students will leap into action for the Pink Kangaroo on 20 March and we are all excited to see how they fare.
