New Sixth Form students build teams on day one
We welcomed our new Lower Sixth students for their first day as Sixth Form students at St Mary’s School, Cambridge yesterday.
The day started with breakfast before the girls met with their form groups and form tutors. Girls who have stayed on with us from the Senior School returning after the summer break enjoyed catching up with old friends, and girls just starting their time at our school had the chance to get to know their peers through a variety of team building games and problem solving activities.
The activities were run by the WiseUp Team Building company, and featured games such as Changing Places, Leaky Pipe, Magic Carpet, Sheep & Shepherd, Stop the Clock and Ski Walk. All of the activities acted as a catalyst for the girls to get to know each other better, as well as encouraging clear communication in order to complete various tasks efficiently. It was great fun for the first day of term, and we’re certain the girls will find the experience of working as a team and staying motivated very handy in the weeks, months and years to come!
