Year 6 take part in Parliamentary workshop

To link with their PSHCE lessons and their topic of democracy, the girls in Year 6 took part in a Parliamentary Workshop run by the education department at the Houses of Parliament on Thursday morning. This was an interactive presentation, where the girls were able to both ask and answer questions about how Parliament is run and what happens in both the House of Commons and House of Lords. They learnt about how the speaker oversees debates and who speaks in the House of Commons. They were very interested to find out about the role of an MP and their responsibilities to their constituents.
