Hello Tokyo! Girls celebrate their virtual arrival in Tokyo, with Cavendish House claiming this Olympic Challenge victory
As we near the end of lockdown III, our Prep girls are celebrating the completion of their home-based Olympic exercise challenge led by Kimberley Pearson, our Head of Prep Sport.
The challenge to complete the 9561km route plotted from Cambridge to Tokyo required each girl to record daily exercise and distances covered via Teams, using the Olympic Exercise Tracker - which converts every minute of exercise to one kilometre travelled.
House teams competed against each other in the race to Tokyo and Cavendish House celebrated their arrival in Tokyo first, with pupils Diya and Anoushka logging their weekend exercise to take them over the final finish line.
On return to school, pupils who contributed the most kilometres in each Year group will receive their Bronze, Silver and Gold medals - to celebrate the great team efforts shown across the Houses.
Kimberley Pearson comments: "Our Olympic Challenge offered a great way for girls to stay active and to work collaboratively in the spirit of competition during lockdown. I am now very much looking forward to returning to sport in school and making the most of our first Spring and Summer terms in our brilliant new facilities at Long Road."
