Sporting highlights
Our students have enjoyed a busy start to the sporting year; the U16 hockey team won their section in the U16 District tournament, and the U15 hockey team won the U16 B Team District tournament, leading both teams to qualify for the final next Monday. Our Sixth Form students played their first hockey match against the Stephen Perse School Foundation and drew. We are now heavily into the hockey season and the girls are looking forward to approximately 50 matches between them (from Year 6 to Sixth Form) before half term.
Our netball teams – the U14, U16 and U18 ESNA netball – are training hard for their English School qualifying tournaments, and the U13 squad is looking forward to a weekend in Shrewsbury competing in the Girls Schools’ Association tournament. Additionally girls are getting involved in a range of clubs, including Year 7 to Year 9 gymnastics skills club and the Year 8 badminton club. Well done to all girls who have tried something new already this year and to those who show great commitment to a chosen sport. We look forward to updating you on the girls’ progress later in the term.
