Arts Award students celebrate success!
On Monday 27 June the official Arts Award moderator visited school to scrutinise the portfolios of students in Year 9, Year 10 and the Upper Sixth who had participated in the Arts Award scheme throughout the academic year, under the guidance of Mrs Emma Fisher (who oversees the bronze level students and has recently embarked on maternity leave) and Mrs Sonia Gears (who oversees the silver level students). The moderator enjoyed finding out about students' diverse experiences, and unique projects, which ranged from knitting, and special effects make-up, to interior design. The moderator gave Mrs Fisher and Mrs Gears glowing feedback about students' work, describing their portfolios as “first class… beautifully, carefully and creatively presented… the young people have really enjoyed it and developed themselves as artists”. Congratulations to the 19 Bronze Arts Award and the 9 Silver Arts Award students.
