Peace Studies at St Mary's

This year we were proud to innovate in the area of Peace Studies.

Year 8 students have followed their own bespoke course, to think about how to achieve peace within themselves, with each other and in society. They added to this learning with their own How to Change the World and Sustainability Days during exam week, in which they had the chance to apply their learning to practical ideas.
 
Year 12 students have participated for the first time in a joint Peace Studies course in collaboration with the Fatima Jinnah Women’s University. Students worked together online, thinking about the nature of peace, barriers to it, their peace role models and the future of peace making in our world.

It was a hugely inspiring example of students from different cultural contexts working and learning together.
