More success for Selena

More success for Selena

Upper Sixth student Selena Y. recently sat the national A2 Astrophysics Challenge paper – and passed with flying colours, achieving a distinction.

Following on from this achievement, Selena will be participating in the Round 1 British Physics Olympiad A2 paper, which takes place in November. The British Physics Olympiad is a challenge for all ages that is intended to encourage students to participate in Physics.

Selena’s achievement exceeds the standard expected of Upper Sixth students, with some of the questions likely to pose a challenge even for Doctors of Physics, so she should be incredibly proud of her achievements, as we are.

Selena is a keen physicist, taking part in various challenges on a regular basis. She is currently involved with the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA) and is the only female team member in the UK going to the IOAA in Thailand this November.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish Serena the best of luck in both the national and international Physics Olympiads!
